In the Garden

"I come to the garden alone
While the dew is still on the roses

And the voice I hear falling on my ear
The Son of God discloses.

He speaks, and the sound of His voice,
Is so sweet the birds hush their singing,

And the melody that He gave to me
Within my heart is ringing.

I’d stay in the garden with Him
Though the night around me be falling,

But He bids me go; through the voice of woe
His voice to me is calling.

And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own;
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known."

May you spend time in the garden with the Master today.

Linda, your Sunday posts always make a profound statement. [I can't believe that robin building a nest in the clay pot as it is....]

Once again, a very poignant message that will cling to my mind throughout the rest of the day.

One of my favorite hymns--so beautifully illustrated with your photographs. My husband is a musician and I love to hear him play this song--one of the first I remember him playing when I was 15! Even the birds sing!

I haven't heard that hymn in a very long time and yet I could 'hear' it from your first sentence.
I love all your shots but that fifth one with the lovely blues is my favorite - awesome!

Great pictures to illustrate this beautiful old hymn. We used to sing this song a lot in the "old days." Thanks for the memories.
Blessings,
