Friday's Fence

Something about a rail fence just captures my eye. I don't think they are much good for keeping anything in or out, but nonetheless, I like them!  I was out scouting for photo ops this past weekend while visiting my aunt in the country.  I spied this fence at her neighbor's.

As I was walking back to the house, I turned around to look at the crabapple tree, wondering if it was going to produce this year, and saw this view.  I couldn't resist - something about the tree just added a charming accent to the fence.

Check out more charming fences at Friday Fences.

What great country charm. And it reminds me of my youth at my grandparents' farm. I don't know why, but it does.

Hope everyone enlarged these. This is my favorite kind of fence. I notice there is extra wire on this one so it must be keeping something in or out.
It was a lovely old tree to frame your shot with.
A really nice find!

On the comment you left me you said from a 'state cousin' so I had to look and see where you were from. I couldn't believe it. We lived in Chesapeake for over 30 years until we retired four years ago. My daughter's still there. Small world. :)

It's a delightful "decorative" fence....unassuming but oh-so-attractive!

Yes, the huge tree is very stately! But you composed the first shot very nicely.
