A Pink Barn?

When was the last time you saw a pink barn?

I am not sure, but my guess is that this lovely barn started out life as something more traditional...what do you think?  Whatever the reason, it sure made for a double-take for me!  I called it Barbie's Barn!  Unfortunately, it was a drive-by, so there was no chance for any additional shots.

it's kept up nicely...i imagine it would be pretty costly to put a fresh coat of red on it!

Interesting...perhaps it started out as red and did the slow fade to pink? I'd like to think that's the case vs. actually CHOOSING pink. LOL Nice BIG barn though.

Pink! Even the propane tank is pink. Neat and tidy like Tanya says. Interesting charming barn find Linda! And I don't think I have ever seen a pink barn.

Very pretty; I think you're right that it used to be red. But it still looks very well kept.

Oh - and I love your new header! Pretty!

a new expression to drive by shooting....shooting an image of Barbie's Barn while driving by. Oh please, forgive me...it's too early yet and I tend to be a bit 'funky' in mind at such an early time of day.

y'know...it looks like the propane gas tank [if that's what it is] is also painted pink. Good lord.

LOL...I did find a pink barn in Pa. I couldnt believe my eyes. This look like it's in good shape. Maybe it's just a very faded red.

It's an interesting colour choice for a beautifully kept barn. Perhaps a lady farmer? :)

I would call it almost bubblegum pink! And I bet you are right in that it started as some other color. It is great shot no matter what the color.

Not only is it pink, but it looks to me to have modern glass doors on the side. This is definitely a use and unique structure. It is so nice. Couldn’t help but see the Direct TV dish...I am wondering if there is an apartment inside. Thanks for the comment on my blog. genie

This is an intriguing barn and a real beauty! I'd love to know if it were deliberately painted a rosy color. I wouldn't think the red would have faded on the propane tank like it has on wood. Whatever the case, it's big and charming!

Barbie's Barn, too funny! I'm thinking they should paint it the same dark red as that other building on the left... niiice!

Thanks so much for joining =)

Well, pink is my favorite color, even though I'd bet it used to be red. It does seem to have a consistent fade, even the propane tank!

What an unusual find... it's a nice shade of pink though. Barbie's Barn is definitely charming. Great drive-by capture!

I think you're right that this is a fade job. Usually the reds don't turn to pink. Our old barn at home just went to faded red and mostly peeled.

Great barn! I love how they painted the water tank to match the barn.

I love this shot!
I'm hoping it's faded red. :)
I really like the silos in the background. Looks like adjoining farms all in one place.
With those mountains in the background this wasn't Tidewater. :)

Barbie's Barn is a beauty, even if it is pink. I don't believe I have ever seen a pink barn. Hard to say if it's faded or if it's intentional. I've seen pink 18-wheelers, and if the barn is owned by a woman farmer she could be making a statement. Or perhaps they needed a prototype for the Barbie farm.....

I've never seen a pink barn, but come to think of it I've not seen ANY kind of barn for such a long time, except here of course, I do my barn watching through you Linda.

Interesting! You are probably correct that the red has faded.

Certainly an eye-catching colour, Linda! Good shot!

This is a wonderful old barn despite the color...does seem to be faded red, but I love the "Barbie barn" thought!

With the satellite dish and the stove pipes, it almost seem as if someone may live in part of the barn.

Then the signs on the smaller barn...wonder what they said.

“When was the last time you saw a pink barn?” - I can say never! This is the first time I've seen a pink barn which I think is so cool. Maybe they painted this pink to look modern and be in trend, but I hope they also painted the roof because it has a line of rust on it. Anyway, I always wanted to have a pink barn, but my sister told me it will look awkward since barns are known for being traditional in terms of its structure. But seeing this gives me hope. ;-)
