River Trip

While visiting Brookgreen Gardens in South Carolina, we took a cruise on Waccamaw Creek.  The tour went past old rice plantations and the guide gave us an overview of the history of the region.  We had a chance to see some wildlife while on the trip - an altogether enjoyable ride!

This fella was watching very carefully as we cruised past...we were watching pretty carefully too!

He was there on the return trip also...still watching!

He definitely had his eye on us - wonder if we looked like lunch?

These little fellows were definitely less threatening - enjoying the sun just the same!

Okay...the alligator is kinda creepy, but still such an incredible creature. You can't help but give 'em wide berth, and respect what they are. That turtle image is super. Oh, and catchin' up on me not visiting for a few days...I love the pink fence. Well, not for me...but the concept.

They are definitely scary creatures, and they move so quickly too don't they! Great shots though Linda, especially as you were out of it's reach!

Love your shots of the gator, Linda! You don't see many photos of them on the blogs.

EEEK on the gators but the turtles are kind of pretty! Good thing you didn't dangle a hand in the water just to feel the temperature or something....yikes.

Years ago when we went to Florida (my hubby was there on business), we were staying at a golfing 'resort' with several of his fellow coworkers. Every time we went out after dark I constantly looked over my shoulder to make sure there were no gators following. lol
