On the road to Connemara, Ireland, headed toward the 12 Bens (hills).
Great pictures of one of my all time favourite birds - I have only seen them on trips to the USA - no woodpeckers of any sort in Australia - so it’s good to bump in to one on line!Cheers - Stewart M - Australia
Great shots Linda! They are elusive redheads... :) Missouri has their Pileateds I will say that! They are the funniest birds~goofy but gorgeous.
I love the Pileated woodies, Linda! Great sighting and photos.
gorgeous. i see one of these in my backyard all the time. such a beautiful bird. (:
...wishing I could see one like that. Now I have to get out my bird book to see if they're even IN our area.Beautiful shots Linda.
Now Linda you say 'her' yard, are you assuming it's a 'she' because of the rather chic coiffe haha! Well done on capturing her way up there.
i love when i'm able to catch sight of these guys! we have 1 pair here, as much as i can tell. :)
Nice photos. I saw one of these for the first time a couple of years ago in a friends yard. I tried to capture a photo but he wouldn't stick around for a photo shoot. :0)
fun shots--we get northern flickers here.
haha! red heads indeed :)well done, Linda!
It is hard to catch them on film isn't it? Nice shot! Thanks for sharing :)
There was a time when I wanted very much to be a red-head. Maybe a little bit more auburn than this. :-) Fortunate shot!
Great photo!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
Nice photos of the Woodpecker on top of the pole.
They do live around here, but I have never seen one. Lucky you! Great shots, too.
I don't know if we have these or not, but I have never seen one either. I love them, though. Great captures of this interesting bird!
Great sighting, great capture!
LOVE that photo! Super, Linda!
Nice captures of the Pileated Woodpecker Linda! These huge woodpeckers are one of my favorite birds to see, maybe because where I live they are secretive and hard to find ;-)
Pileateds are awesome birds. We see quit we a few of them here. Great shot of the bird but I think you should tell the power company that their pole is rotten.
Congrats, Linda! I've never photographed one. Nice shots!
Congrats on the excellent capture. We see these birds all the time also but, I have never gotten a good photo of one.
