The still water at the Botanical Gardens last week provided no end to the opportunities for reflection shots.
I "chased" this Great Blue with my camera back and forth across the lake...he just wouldn't let me get very close, and I didn't have my 500mm lens with me! That will teach me to leave it behind!

models can be such divas! :)
Like your shots of the old heron flying out of the territory. Their flight is somewhat erratic when they start out.
Wonderful shots of the Great Blue and the reflections!
I just love the pictures with the heron flying and reflecting on the water : they are awesome.

It is hard to have all the right lenses...there are always too many wonderful surprises and delights in nature....yet these are perfect captures of nature at its finest.

Great captures. I love visiting the Botanical Gardens here. Always a fun experience and so many great photos to be had.
ohhh so pretty, Linda! =)
You have a 500mm! WOW!!!! I'm happy for you.
I have learned to pop all my equipment into a basket when I come home, and pop it into the car as soon as I go ANYWHERE!
It really has helped. We tend to drive, then end up in a different place from our destination. It's been a great summer.
Cheers from Cottage Country!
Linda I can see your running for that shot! Last photo is awesome!
Hi I am new here, via CC. That bird is so big, amazing. How wonderful it is to be in such waters for photography. I envy your sets of lenses. By the way, in your header, is that mountain really a big rock as shown in the photo? thanks.
Love that arc in the last picture. Amazing pictures even without the lens.
Still cool shots. Love the reflections too.
Very nice picture of this big bird!
It is always not easy to get good photos from them, no matter what lense you have. I like the shots!
And I am blown away from your header photo.... wish to bee there.
Love the reflection shots Linda!
With or without your 500 lens Linda the bird reflections are magic, well done.
