After the Harvest

Camping is another of my passions - but only when it involves an RV with real beds and bathrooms!  I love carrying my house with me, sleeping in my own bed, using my own dishes, and having all my own "stuff".

Last year, on a trip to Kentucky to travel the legendary Kentucky Bourbon Trail, we camped in the town of Frankfort.  The campground we visit has a lovely lazy stream running alongside, and all the usual amenities.

The bonus was this adjacent barn, with the recent harvest of tobacco.  It stood proudly holding the owner's income hanging from its rafters.

 Looks like a good crop!

Oh, I love Kentucky, although I've never heard of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail!
Love the photo of the barn with tobacco - something we don't see here in southeast Virginia!

The barn looks overflowing almost with the tobacco. Wonderful shot!
Love the tranquility the first image conveys!

Nice old tobacco barn! Looks like a pretty area to camp. I'll have to look up the KY Bourbon Trail. Haven't heard of it, but then I live in MO and have only been in KY a few times.

What a nice old barn! The shot is even better with the tobacco hanging inside!

Looks like a beautiful place...I have seen more tobacco barns in the past few weeks than I have seen in the years of blogging before...brings back so many memories for me since I grew up raising tobacco.
