Barn Charm #32

This little barn - unused at this point, I think - was spotted on our trip to visit a lavender farm near Catlett, VA.  The lavender farm was closed for the season when we got there, but the trip was not entirely in vain.
I loved the green hatched doors, and when I got out to look a little closer (it was very close to a dirt road so I didn't have to trespass), I noticed the wooden critters in the window.
This was the view from the back of the barn - no signs of use.
And this was the cupola - I loved it!  The barn appears to be in good shape...just wonder why it is empty!

What a pretty barn! So nice that it's close to the road, so you could get good pictures. You do have to wonder why it isn't being used...?

oh, i love the cupola ... so different. i need to look into asking the hubby to go see this place. when are they with lots of lavender ... that would be the greatest time to see it in bloom. & the scent would be amazing. (:

Very cool barn! I love the roof and the brick is a nice change from the usual. Always a bonus when there's a silo!

Such a pretty barn...it has so much charm. Looks like it's been well cared for. Shame it's not being used...it would make a great produce/craft barn!

It;s in such good condition. Too bad it isn't being used.

Oh, I hope you'll share photos of the lavender farm when it's at its prime. And this barn is just another example of sense of humor with those critter cutouts. Do you think this barn will be used to dry lavender when the time comes?

That is a wonderful barn and silo. Those bricks or blocks have such character.

Looks like a nice, well cared for barn... I do hope someone saves it before it falls into ruins like so many others! What are we going to do if this keeps up where the farms keep closing up shop? Too many farmers are going out of business & it's seriously getting scary!

Thanks for joining =)

A really cool barn. It seems each barn you show has some unique characteristic. I've never seen a barn built out of brick material!

It's such an unusual barn with that brick base! I like the green thatched doors too, and that cupola is wonderful!

Love that cupola Linda! The barn is a real beauty. The critters in the windows are so funny. I come to you to get my barn fix. Oh, but I actually linked up the barn we saw in Idaho on our gal pal trip. Going to hop over and visit lots of links later this week.
Hugs,
Jann

They really should be using this fabulous space for something arty and creative don't you agree Linda, I hope they don't just leave it there until it starts falling apart that would be such a shame.

Lovely barn. Perhaps someone is getting it ready to be jacked up and move to a new location. You will have to return and see if it is still there in a few months.
