My Favorite Fences!

This was a surprise find - we traveled to Ft. Eustis last Saturday, and found an old house on base that I knew nothing about.  I had walked around the house, taking photos of the old structure, and the historical marker, telling all about the house.  I had walked back to the car and opened the door when hubby said, look at the fence.  My head whipped around and there - on either side of the gravel parking area - was the fence that I always love to find!  And I nearly missed it!  Thankfully, Dan is always on the lookout for me!

I know they don't do much to keep things in or out, but I just love this design!

I will save the house and the history for another day.  For now, I will just thank my DH for finding my favorite kind of fence!

I love those fences too Linda! I like a classic white fence but these rustic fences really work in the country for just "pretty to look at". Not much maintenance either! We need rain too please! No rain since late April.

I love those old snake fences, too! They take up a lot of room, but they are so pretty! This one is so short!

That's a neat fence! Our hubbies do look out for us don't they?

This kind of fence is very common here in Hanover Pa. Its nice to have your hubs with you for an extra set of eyes. My hubs does the same for me.

Well this is definitely a first for me Linda, I don't think I've ever seen a fence like this. I like the zig zag look, but is it more of a border than a fence?

Every photographer needs a lookout! A driver is nice too. And you're right, most everyone love a higgley-piggley split rail.

Glad you husband pointed out the fence. It is one of my favorite kind of fence and we don't have many here in MN.

what a fun find. We have one around a campground up the canyon from us. It is made of logs. As a child I used to "walk" it.

«Louis» likes the geometry of that fallen fence. He would have snapped a shot of it, too!

Because of Friday Fences I know now that this kind of fence is strong and durable. Thanks for sharing.

I love these, too, but always think what a pain they would be to mow around.

How very unusual a fence, Linda! I haven't seen one like this before.

I really do like the design, too. I have seen it used up on the parkway , but they are always stacked higher. This one makes for such an interesting picture. genie

Awesome old fences. They used what they had most of. Looks like this one has seen better days.

Isn't wonderful to be married to someone you can count on to have your back.

This is my favorite kind of fence as well. I use to babysit for a family that had one like this. It was nice being able to step over it to take a shortcut home.
