While the dew is still on the roses
The Son of God discloses.
He speaks, and the sound of His voice,
Is so sweet the birds hush their singing,
And the melody that He gave to me
Within my heart is ringing.
I’d stay in the garden with Him
Though the night around me be falling,
But He bids me go; through the voice of woe
His voice to me is calling.
And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own;
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known."
May you spend time in the garden with the Master today.

that is a very difficult song for me to hear. you see it was my Grandma Mary's favorite song ... i try to listen (i love Elvis, Brad Paisley, Alan Jackson & other artists versions) but always end in tears. i love it any way. such a beautiful song for this sunday. thank you for sharing. enjoy your day. (:
I feel the same as Beth...my beloved Gram sang this hymn all the time. I can close my eyes n hear her singing now! Thanks for the blast from the past!
really gorgeous, linda. :)
Beautiful images to go with an all time favorite song Linda, beautiful post for today.
Linda, your Sunday posts always make a profound statement. [I can't believe that robin building a nest in the clay pot as it is....]
Once again, a very poignant message that will cling to my mind throughout the rest of the day.
Always interesting what pictures go along with lyrics! Well done.
One of my favorite hymns--so beautifully illustrated with your photographs. My husband is a musician and I love to hear him play this song--one of the first I remember him playing when I was 15! Even the birds sing!
I haven't heard that hymn in a very long time and yet I could 'hear' it from your first sentence.
I love all your shots but that fifth one with the lovely blues is my favorite - awesome!
Excellent pairing of lyrics and photos as always Linda...it's a "gift" that you have!

A beautiful time to be in the garden. I may be humming that hymn all day now!
Great pictures to illustrate this beautiful old hymn. We used to sing this song a lot in the "old days." Thanks for the memories.
Blessings,
Charlotte
