Red sails in the sunset, way out on the sea
American Rover, Norfolk, VA |
Oh, carry my loved one home safely to me
She sailed at the dawning, all day I've been blue
American Rover |
Red sails in the sunset, I'm trusting in you
Swift wings you must borrow
A.J. Meerwald |
Make straight for the shore
Protecting our harbor |
We marry tomorrow
And she goes sailing no more

Gorgeous photos, Linda! Love how you paired them with the lyrics to the song.
We went to Ft. Monroe to watch the Parade of Sail as they left. My pictures are mostly gray though: since it was a very cloudy day.
Those are some amazing ships. Would be very fun to see them. Great captures!
Love your photos, they are all great! I enjoy watching the sail boats sailing along on the ocean, they seem to be so carefree as they float along. Though I know it takes much work to get the job done.
I am not familiar with the song, will have to Google it and give it a listen.
Wow great shots...nice blend with the song!
impressive ships!
Wonderful shots of those tall ships! There were several in Duluth Harbor a couple of years ago. I didn't get to see them. But they are coming again next summer. I will have to make a point of seeing them.
Absolutely gorgeous....the tall ships came through NC several years ago. I hear it was a sight to behold.
Wonderful pictures.

Always like the lyrics you choose. they are songs I know and love. I can hear them just by reading the lyrics.
What a magnificent sight that must have been Linda, the tall ships always look so elegant sailing into harbour. enjoyed the song also, well done! Happy weekend, wish I had some of your warm weather here in Perth.
You and Dianna both got GREAT photos from OpSail!

Been extremely busy...not home much the last couple of days. Again, here I am catching up on your postings.
LOVE the Red Sails in the Sunset for your themesong. Your images are breathtakingly gorgeous!!! Mark my words.
Amazing, I must be musically inept because I can never remember titles much less enough lyrics to track down a song, even if I had the pictures to use with them.
Enjoyed this very much.
