More Camera Critters

If I could talk to the animals...I am sure they would be bored to death!  So, I just photograph them instead...

These critters were at the Buffalo Nickel Ranch in Kentucky.  We heard about the farm, and decided to drive out and see the herd.  (No, we didn't make a special trip to Kentucky - we were already there!)  My hubby, never afraid to ask the question, drove into the driveway and knocked on the door of the house to see if we could photograph the herd.  The owner was very gracious, even calling them up to feed treats so we could get to see them up close and personal - behind the fence, of course!  These guys are HUGE!  The owner sells buffalo meat, and gave us some burgers to try.  I have to confess, we haven't tried them yet, although we are told the meat is very tasty.  I think I am going to let Dan be the one to try it...I am not very adventuresome when it comes to my food!
Here's looking at you!

Awesome closeups of the buffalo. The owner was really nice to let you get up close. My hubby tried the buffalo burgers while we were touring Montana and Yellowstone, he said it was very tasty. Great critters, have a wonderful weekend!

I've never been to the Buffalo Nickel Ranch, but there are also some bison at the Salato Wildlife Center in Frankfort. They're much bigger in person. I've had bison meat before and it is quite good...at least I thought so.

Wow! What a neat adventure... kudos to your husband for asking permission. Otherwise we may not have had these wonderful images to enjoy.

Come on, we need a tasters review of the burgers.

Nice shots Linda! I've seen buffalo herds from a distance - they're so "grand"...love the picture of the young, lighter colored guy heading to the camera (or to get a treat!).
