Wake-Up Call!

I am currently sitting in a hospital room in ICU with my husband, who suffered a heart attack yesterday afternoon.  He is scheduled to be moved to the Cardiac Center in Norfolk on Friday for surgery - possibly stents or bypass.  We will know more today, but I am doubtful that I will get to reading everyone's blogs and commenting.   I just wanted you to know what was going on.  I will post and visit as I can.  I am not exactly thinking clearly at this point!  Thinking only good thoughts...we were already at the hospital when he went into arrest - had been complaining of chest pains.  There were many angels attending yesterday, from the police officer who assisted me and called the ambulance, to the doctors and nurses who were here when he arrested and were able to bring him back so quickly.  My sons rushed to be here with me, my mother and sister offered to come if I wanted them, and so many people have made offers to help, I am totally overwhelmed.  At times like these, you realize what is important - tell those you love how you feel, while you can.  30 minutes longer at home while he was not telling me about the pain in his chest and arm, and the result would have been a lot different today.  As it is, I still have a husband and partner, and I am grateful to God,the angels I was surrounded with yesterday, my family, and the prayer warriors in many states.

Until the next time...Linda

PS: For those who follow both of my blogs, I am posting the same thing over at Taking Time and a Walk.

Going through a situation like your husbands is traumatic to say the least. I wish him well and a speedy recovery. How awesome that so many people are there to support you when your world feels like it's falling in.
Take care of the important things and your blog followers will understand.

Linda oh my! You and your Hubby are in my prayers! My rosary for today will be for him and a quick recovery. They can do so much now for our hearts. I have had a stent for 7 years and done well. I am so happy your family is there to hold you tight and support you both and each other.

So sorry to hear the news. Thanks be to God that you got help so fast! When your going through a traumatic time such as this...you realize how important it is to have family around. When Jer had his heart attack back in 1996 we were living in Denver Co. and I had no family there to lean on...it was the lonliest n scariest time in my life. Prayers go out to your hubby for a speedy recovery and good outcome weather they put stents in or bypass him. Please keep us posted! Keep the faith Linda...it's in God's hands as always.

I am sorry to hear that, Linda, but glad he got to hospital on time. Nowadays cardiac surgery is routine and he should come through it with flying colours. I hope that everything blows over soon. I wish your husband a speedy and complete recovery!

I am sending postive energy your way. Amazed you even had time to put up a little post.
Wishing a speedy recovery to your husband. Don't forget to take up those offers of help. People love to run an errand, cook up a little meal for a time when needed, walk the dog, etc.
For you....self care! Don't forget to take care of yourself-he's going to need you.

Oh my gosh Linda...I am in total shock. I do hope and pray that he recovers fully and things can again, very soon, be back to normal. This is so scary.

Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers also...it's stress 1000 times over for those that have to wait, wait, wait. Not knowing what's happening.

Take things easily, both of you...keep positive thoughts and know we'll be here when you can return to blogging.

PS...

Sorry, I'm so late getting around to visiting. Busy week for us here in Texas. Now, I'm playing catchup with y'all!!!

Dear Linda,
I had decided to take a blogging break for a couple of weeks and I sat down tonight just to read a few of my favorites. (One can't take a complete break.)
I am so sorry to hear this news. Even though we've never met you are a part of my 'family'.
I am sending prayers and hugs to you and your family. Know you are in my thoughts.
Hugs,
Carletta
