Fencery

Tricia, over at Barn Charm coined a word that I am using this week!  Fencery...what a great word!  I think the definition would read something like this:

FENCERY  (noun) The result of photographic journeys in which people with cameras wander the countryside looking for a barrier enclosing or bordering a field, yard, etc., usually made of posts and wire or wood, used to prevent entrance to, confine, or to mark a boundary.

Having established this definition, here are my offerings for this week's Fencery!

I can't even imagine the upkeep for a fence this long - painted or stained!

Or this one...see how it winds back and forth over the property!

However, this one, in spite of the rough wood, is my personal favorite!  This is a fence with character!

Good fences! I do love that dark stained/painted fence. I like the third one two and would take it in a minute. I like seeing someone else's white fence and it makes for a great picture but the upkeep and vinyl or plastic, I don't know. Good Morning Linda!

Fencery: I'll have to remember that word. It's a good one!
Beautiful pictures. I like them all, but that white one with the grass and trees in the background is stunning. But you're right: a LOT of upkeep!
Enjoy your Friday!

That last fence is a complicated affair compared to the first two!

Linda I just read on Dianna's blog that you had a blog book published. I have been trying to decide on who to use. I have a Blogger blog parked in "private" collecting dust and I want to do the same. Could you, would you tell me who you used?

Awesome shots. I like the last fence it looks like it takes a lot of time to build it. And I also learn that these kind of fence is much stronger than other fences. It has a lot of character to it too. Thanks for sharing.

LOL...that last kind of fence is popular this week. Great shots. I would not want to take care of all those fences!

I too, I'm inclined to agree with you on the 'favorite'. It DOES have character and blends so well with the scenery if you want my opinion.

Well done....that new word "fencery" is something I really like.

OH Linda, I wish I could take credit for coining that word, but I actually got it from TexWisGirl... she says 'barnage' & 'fencery' She cracks me up w/ some of the stuff she comes up with, she's a hoot! =)

Great scenes you've got here, tho, & I LOVE that bottom fence! They always give me that great big cheesy smile! =)

PS I have some insight on the upkeep of those fences... my parent's have that kind & they have to clean it w/ bleach water once a year to keep it so white, otherwise, it turns green! =0

You could have been practicing "fencery" in the Bluegrass region of KY, Linda. Nothing prettier than well-maintained fences in the rural areas. Nice thing about Friday Fences is that we can take great liberties with what we show and call a "fence". :-)

The last fence picture is the greatest. Here in western Canada we would never see such a fence as we don't have the wood.

I've always loved seeing the miles and miles of fence like in your first two shots. I live on five acres and would love to have it all fenced in. It's too expensive and as I have nothing to keep in quite unnecessary.
The last one reminds me of fences you would see at State and National parks.
Great finds!

The first two shots are beautiful! I love the landscape. The fence in the last photo is my favorite! That's so cool.

Love your definition of fencery and your fences. My favorite is the white one winding around the farm.
Thanks for stopping my and your nice comments,

Linda, wonderful photos of the fences and scenery. The last fence shot reminds me of Gettysburg.

Love the perspective in the first shot Linda and yes, imagine keeping that in good working order. The fence in the last shot is really different, it almost looks like the logs are just placed in position!
