Out on the Elizabeth River, in Chesapeake, VA, in our pontoon boat, we always enjoy watching the ospreys. This particular day, we got to see the pair on the nest...and as we moved closer, the male (at least I think it was the male...he appears to be a little smaller) was giving us a piece of his mind!
Okay, we're leaving already!

The Ospreys are cool birds. Wonderful photos of them on the nest, Linda! Hope you have a great weekend!
I think these are really nice photographs. We have Coopers Hawks and Sharp-shinned Hawks but no Ospreys.
Love Ospreys! Great capture Linda.
Oh well done Linda, they're magnificent looking birds. I think perhaps you're right, maybe you were getting just a little too close for their liking!
I remember when we'd ride by their nests in our boat, they'd really let us know they weren't happy with us!
Great pics!
so cool that you get to see these beauties nest! :)
I'm always on the hunt for great osprey photos! They haven't returned to Ontario yet but should be here in a few weeks.
Mmmmmmm, magnificent!!! Glad you had a chance to see the osprey I photographed this past week...they're so pretty. Aren't they?
These are great shots....He doesn't look happy does he....They are so beautiful.....
Thanks for the visit and your sweet remarks....I hope you will visit again....
Oh my goodness you got to see the babies! We just had our pontoon out last weekend in Southern PA and we spotted a mama Osprey sitting in her nest. Love this time of year on the water.....the lake comes alive!
It's nesting season and the critters are impatient with intruders. Great captures!
Very good scenes.
Regards and best wishes
Haha! he told you! "Step away from the nest ..!! now!! "
Great photos!
Please stop by my blog for a link to a new movie coming out soon called "Darling Companion" with Diane Keaton and Kevin Kline. I thought I would share with all of the Camera Critters! I haven't seen it yet .. but I'm looking forward to seeing it. Let me know what you think!
Ospreys are pretty active and aggressive . Really neat to see them pick a fish out of the water.
I guess they told you! Great shots!
Am amazing catch of the camera.
Love those shots, Linda! I wish I could find a nest of any raptor. That's one of those things that still eludes me.
Great closeups of these birds!
When we lived in the area I wasn't doing photograpy seriously but I do remember the huge nests they make.
Gorgeous!!
My Critter post, have a blessed Sunday!
wonderful photographs!
Every good Papa protects his brood....this guy obviously thought you had mischief in mind when really you just had "beautiful photos" in mind!
Pam (and Sam)
What a treat!!!
Nature usually lets us know (if we're listening) when we're no longer welcome. Even when I'm diving and photographing sharks, they often display body language telling you to move on.
