As I was walking back to the house, I turned around to look at the crabapple tree, wondering if it was going to produce this year, and saw this view. I couldn't resist - something about the tree just added a charming accent to the fence.

What great country charm. And it reminds me of my youth at my grandparents' farm. I don't know why, but it does.
1st, i'm curious ... where did you find the word verfication gadget? i would like to put that on my blog as well. so peaceful looking here. great view. love the simple fence. just like part of the scenery. (:
Great pictures - you're right, that tree DOES add something, doesn't it?
the tree really does add something extra to the scene! nice spotting =)
Yep...I like split rails also! The tree does add a nice impact on the photo!
I like split rail fences too. Love the photo of the tree and the fence.
Hope everyone enlarged these. This is my favorite kind of fence. I notice there is extra wire on this one so it must be keeping something in or out.
It was a lovely old tree to frame your shot with.
A really nice find!
On the comment you left me you said from a 'state cousin' so I had to look and see where you were from. I couldn't believe it. We lived in Chesapeake for over 30 years until we retired four years ago. My daughter's still there. Small world. :)
It's a delightful "decorative" fence....unassuming but oh-so-attractive!
I love that second shot! Looks like late evening..
Like your shots and yes I thought it could be late at night too. ^_^
Friday Fences
I like the looks of a rail fence too.
amen! nothing better than trees and a good fence!
both the tree and the fence have wonderful shape and character
Yes, the huge tree is very stately! But you composed the first shot very nicely.
Lovely image Linda. How exciting to be catching up with friends you haven't seen for 47 years, gosh how different will you all look to each other! Enjoy.
I love a rail fence too! Two very pretty pictures for Friday Fences! Last shot, that tree has personality!
It's a charming fence, and the tree really does compliment it!
