Continuing my journey in Lake Placid, one of my very favorite ones is this one simply titled "Bassin'". It is 45'6" wide and 13' high. I love how the bass just seems to jump off the wall!
This next one depicts another of Florida's famous pastimes - and is simply titled "Airboat". It is done by the same artist, Keith Goodson, and is another one with wonderful depth. The photos don't really do it justice, since you feel like the airboat is flying off the wall into the air! This one is 28' wide and 12'8" high.
Each mural is sponsored by a different group or association. The original artwork, submitted by the artists before the murals are painted, is on display at the Chamber of Commerce. In addition to the murals and caladiums, Lake Placid is famous for its Clown School, established in 1993. Lake Placid has more clowns per capita than any other town in Florida. Stay tuned for the next installment!

Hi Linda, these are wonderful murals. The fish looks like it is coming out of the wall. I would love to go on one of those airboats for a ride. Thanks for sharing, have a Happy MOnday!
Wow - JR & I need to plan a trip to Lake Placid to see all these amazing murals!
Thanks for sharing! Have a good Monday - I'm off to the dentist for a crown. :(
I haven't been to Florida for a few years. Your photos of the murals make me wish I were there now.
This is all so incredibly fabulous Linda!!! I'm so enjoying the murals AND how you describe it all for us in photos and words.
These are awesome...very interesting info about the clowns.
A fantastic mural!
«Louis» thanks you for your visit to San Francisco Bay Daily Photo.

I love the one with the bass leaping out of the wall!

Wonderful! I didn't even know there was a Lake Placid in Florida.
Hi Linda! The murals do pop right out at you! Great art work. I have to admit, I didn't know there was a Lake Placid in Florida either. I do now and I am enjoying your snaps from there!
Fabulous! That bass is amazing!
The jumping bass looks so realistic, you think you would get wet standing near it. Quite the find. Thank you for showing us the amazing murals of Lake Placid. And thanks for participating in Monday Mural.
Really interesting concept and fine execution. Is this painted on a temporary wall or a permanent one? Hopefully the taggers will be inspired to try something more complex than just leaving their names on surfaces. Thanks again, John for participating in Monday Mural.
I like how, with a tweak of perspective, a painter can bring an image to life. Footpath artists using chalk can have the same startling effect. These are VERY big works of art.

That fish looks like it's jumping right out of the mural!
